Episode 62 Morals

In plain English, these are the morals from Episode 62:

If the opportunity arose, would Michael step back up to the bar?

Good grief! Kevin Andrews had a heart attack? Was that really necessary. Surely there's some other way for Michael to be restored to his proper role as a lawyer. It seems almost imperative to me that it be Cricket herself who ask for Michael's restoration, and that's how I played it here.

I also think the core strength that Michael has is the ability to play the long shot and to really get under the skin of and into the head of the people he is playing against. I've been sitting for days watching Danny behave like a powderkeg in court. Michael would not just watch--he'd find a way to channel that energy. Again, that's how I ended up where I did in this episode.

Will Victor's party pack more punch than his bartender's serving up?

The Victor/Diane/Jack plot drags on and on and on. Gives us some relief! Tell us what in the world is in Diane's head! What a disappointment the party on the show was. But then, I expected that. I scripted this story before I even knew how dull it was going to turn out. As soon as the party started, I was thinking--we need a good old fashioned murder to get things moving. That's how I got to thinking of Jack shooting Victor. But that seemed too pat, so I decided just to make that be part of the `entertainment'.

The idea of Diane being the one to die seemed the most plausible at this point. There are a healthy number of people with motives.

Victor arranged the party (opportunity). Also, I can't really believe he loves Diane (motive).

Veronica is out and about. She might have had time to figure out that with Diane out of the way, Nikki and Victor might gravitate, leaving Joshua free.

Nikki is carrying a bag of poison at the party. She could have sent Diane a `poison pin' letter. She certainly doesn't like Victor being married.

Jack obviously has motive. Yes, he loves Diane, but she's taken a pretty permanent move away from him.

Diane might have poisoned herself. Shee realizes she's now lost the one thing (Jack) that mattered to her and she's stuck with Victor. Wouldn't you kill yourself in that situation?

I'm sure the Bug and Paul would have sorted it all out for us. Pardon me if I don't bother to show them doing so.

That's all for Episode 62's morals. Don't miss Episode 63 and its morals!
