Episode 123 Morals

In plain English, these are the morals from Episode 123:

Can Jill and Neil counter the power play staged by Jack and Brad?

I can't even begin to tell you all the things that are bugging me about this plot. The parody gets into some of them. But I guess the one other main really big thing that isn't mentioned in there is my belief about the following:

Doesn't Victor hold a majority interest in Newman Enterprises? He's always been portrayed as owner. If he does have a majority interest, my assumption is that while the board can fire him as CEO, he can fire the board. When Jack and Brad took over, I didn't see shares change hands. And that would mean Victor still has a controlling interest. I wish someone would address the actual business mechanics of what is going on because I'm very unconvinced this could happen.

The only scenario I can think of that might work is to have Jack and Brad, before Victor gets back, go out for more funding by issuing more shares of stock. That would dilute Victor's interest and make the company possible to take from him. Is that a legal thing to do? Who knows. But I certainly wonder if what they're doing now is legal.

Also, and this is something you see illustrated in my story, I do actually think under many rules systems, if someone leaves the room they lose their vote until they come back. I was surprised Jack left the room so Brad could "convince" Neil and Jill of stuff. In a hostile situation, that seems risky.

Is Alice fit to be Cassie's mom?

I'm not really getting a lot out of this plot. That's why I suggested giving Cassie back and being done with it.

Also, I can't figure out Al. Is his being a "child molester" being dropped? No mention of it in a while. He doesn't behave like one imagines a child molester--he doesn't seem to want to be around kids, for example. He's a good character--I wish we would get rid of his bad history. Maybe I'll do it in AWO sometime if someone doesn't beat me to it on the show.

I'm having lots of problems with this current plot. We can't seem to figure out if Al is a bad guy--the part about him being a child molester seems to be getting omitted. Will that just spring up at some point? Is it being "dropped"?

Will Jill throw a fit over changes in her living arrangement?

A couple of weeks ago, I thought about doing a murder mystery where Katherine disappears and Jill is blamed. The bloody glass fragments reminded me again. Seemed like the fun thing to finally try.

Rejected by Mary and Ruth, where might Carl fit in?

I do think Ruth should refuse to take Carl back, but I'm not sure I think he belongs with Mary, so I looked around for someone for him to be with. Doris seemed like a good "long forgotten" person to bring back into things. She needs a frontburner story.

Can Cricket fit another rescue into her busy schedule?

Am I the only person who thinks the new Tony is awfully similar in overall facial look to Phillip III? To highlight this, I turned the Tony plot into a blend of a Carl/Ruth/Mary retread and the Alice/Sharon/Cassie thing.

Will Ashley encounter resistance from Lady Huddleston?

This plot is weird. It doesn't seem of the quality of the other Y&R plots. It's like something borrowed from another soap opera. I wanted to poke fun at it somehow, although I confess the particular path I took in this story was pretty undirected and random.

That's all for Episode 123's morals. Don't miss Episode 124 and its morals!
