Episode 130 Morals

In plain English, these are the morals from Episode 130:

Diane's plans didn't work out, but who should she be mad at?

I'm just glad this plot is finally moving. This is my first AWO episode in a long time, and I think the saddest thing about the long gap is how little has happened in all that time. I remember getting e-mail from readers almost a year ago suggesting parodies I should do of this plotline, such as having Ashley's baby turn out to be Victor's, or having Diane's baby turn out to be Jack's. My impression is that those things are finally going to be happening now. It's been too long in coming, and I'm not really sure it was worth the wait.

Will Nick finally realize he's mad for trusting Carter?

The plot here, like in most of the storylines, is also moving slowly. But now that it's finally moving, I just plain don't understand it.

First, Carter made a big point about manipulating everything with rubber gloves to make sure all the prints were Nick's, then suddenly now he's touching everything with his fingers. What is the point?

Then, too, the Jordan just wants to buy drugs. He sees them on the shelf. He has the money. Carter says he has to wait for Nick to sell them to him. Why in the world would he buy that? The only possible explanation is that Nick is going to be stung, and that Jordan's going to be caught up in it. If Jordan had any sense, he should have been out of there running at that moment. I don't know why he stayed around.

Will sparks fly when Mac and Billy attend the rave together?

Did I mention the plot lines have been moving slowly. Gee, I've been agonizing over Billy and Mac for way too long. I really like them. But it's been getting tortuous lately. We have to have at least some sense that we're getting some reward for all this viewing or we'll become disinterested. Let's have Mac and Billy get serious already. Besides, it would give Jill something new to whine about--she's been sounding a bit like a broken record lately with nothing to fuel her fire.

When Trisha gets mad, will she jump to an inappropriate conclusion?

Could I possibly care any less than I do about this plot with Trisha? Everything Trisha does seems so unmotivated. It's just incoherent. So this plot was more like me fantasizing about putting things to a merciful end. I was so excited to see her on the ledge, but I knew it wouldn't last.

Also, by the way, she really did stand on that ledge all day in the show. At the end of the first episode where she was on the ledge and we hit the cliffhanger, it was day. When we returned the next episode, it was night. Am I the only one to have noticed? Do they employ anyone to do continuity, or is this part of the intended subtle humor of the show that causes it to get the big ratings?

When Nina sparks Tomas to succeed, will it spell poison for her career?

I really liked Tomas. Though like Samson, he lost his power with me the more he cut his hair. I thought he was cooler looking when he first showed up.

But what really irked me may not have been the hair. The real problem I have is the completely lame explanation of his writing problems as mere drinking problems. Or else this recent unmotivated ego trip thing that came completely out of the blue. I can't figure out whether it was caused by the alcohol because the writing is bad enough that it didn't link things up well in that regard.

I think Tomas would be much better as a schemer, like Carter, who picked his target very carefully, having read her stories in advance and having planted himself in her restaurant to work his way into her life and steal her stories in a coldly plotting way. That kind of mole plot is much more satisfying to see build over a long time than a repeat of the many "alcoholics are bad" plots that have been done over the many ages of Y&R rehashes.

That's all for Episode 130's morals. Don't miss Episode 131 and its morals!
